US traders return from a day and a half of holidays for American independence day. There is every chance that a number of them will have extended that holiday through to Monday.  Liquidity and volume will likely be a little less than usual and it is likely that we will see increased volatility around the NFP numbers.

Asian markets are virtually unchanged as the Hang Seng and Nikkei225 currently show gains of 23 and 18 points respectively. Opening calls for the DAX see that market opening 5 points higher whilst the FTSE is showing an opening call ten points lower.

US Markets are looking for a good number today. The forecast is for an increase of 162,000 jobs against a poor number last month of 75,000. A second bad number in a row will unnerve the market whilst a good number could see the DOW close above 27,000 for the first time.

Markets are expected to do little until much closer to the announcement. I remain short DAX futures and do not anticipate adding to my position until midday at least
